Community programmes volunteering

I help out here because I want to make a difference and give something back.” Mary

The Salvation Army is generally found at the heart of the local community, providing a warm welcome and an offer of hope to everyone. Each Salvation Army corps (church) provides a service which is based on the needs of the local community, and no two corps are the same!
Many of our programmes are run by volunteers, and whatever your skill or passion are we can find a role for you! Our community programmes include:
  • Corps cafes
  • Lunch clubs
  • Foodbanks
  • Homeless drop-ins or nightshelters
  • Employability services supporting people back to work
  • Debt advice services
  • Befriending services
