Located in the east end of Glasgow opposite the famous Barrowlands and Barra's Market Wallace of Campsie provides single accommodation for 52 homeless individuals. The service has successfully focused throughout the year in further improving service user engagement, which has ensured that service users play a key in the development of the service.
Wallace of Campsie's achievements were recognised formally at this year's Social Services conference when they awarded the 'Centre 'of the Year' award.
A resident's view:
"When I first moved in I was allocated staff members to support me with different areas of my life. With my addiction Issues the Drug Worker in here has been fantastic, she has been trying really hard in getting me to where I want to be which is residential rehab. She is the kind of worker who doesn't just work for a wage, she wants to get the best she can for her clients so they can move on in life.
I also have another Support Worker who is my key to all other issues in here and again she puts her heart and soul into her job, she is a great support to have."
