Apprenticeships

Earn, learn and make a difference with The Salvation Army and join one of our many apprenticeship programmes.

Apprenticeships are one of the many ways we attract fresh new talent to our organisation. By offering a variety of programmes across our services, we can help you kick start a new career and gain a nationally recognised qualification.

What are Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are work based training programmes, where you learn new skills and knowledge, on the job. The qualifications are designed to enable you to gain the sector specific skills needed for you to fulfil your role and further your career development.

To be eligible for one of our apprenticeship programmes you must be:

  • Over 16 years of age.
  • Living in England or working 50% of your time in England.
  • Be employed by The Salvation Army.
  • Prepared and committed to learning new skills, knowledge and behaviours.

Becoming an apprentice with The Salvation Army means you will receive the practical training and all the support you need to complete the apprenticeship.

You will also be assigned a specialist trainer from one of the many training providers we use. They will guide you through the programme and help you reach your goals.

All we ask for in return is for your commitment and willingness to achieve the apprenticeship.

What is available?

Our current apprentices are working in a range of service areas such as our child care settings, care homes, homelessness services, employment plus projects and our finance department.
