In every community where you find The Salvation Army, you will discover a ministry that is unique.

For more than a hundred and twenty years, The Salvation Army has been a vital part of the South Ayrshire evangelical and social community.

Although it’s mainly known for its social ministries, The Salvation Army is a thriving and relevant mainstream Christian Church.

Everyone is welcome at our vibrant weekly worship services and our programmess which are relevant for people of all ages.

Our exciting Sunday morning worship starts at 10:45 am and is usually finished by 12:15 pm.

A highlight of family worship is a “coffee and fellowship” time immediately after the service, where you get to meet people and chat about things that matter to you most.

The preaching and worship is bible-based and you probably can't worship anywhere else where a brass band accompanies the singing every week!

Exciting parent and toddler group for babies and toddlers 4 years and under accompanied by parent or guardian. We have lots of toys for the children to play with and have a mix of informal play with different activities such as storytelling, singalong and art and crafts. The cost is £1 per child to cover nutritional food and drink for the child and a coffee and biscuit for the parents/guardians. Every Monday from 9.30-11.30 during school term in a large, open and safe recreational hall. Access via side entrance in Macadam Place. view map

Ayr Community Gospel Choir 2024 Rehearsal Dates

Rehearsals will take place in the Worship Hall on a Thursday at 7.30pm. Please only use the front entrance in John Street.

AN INVITATION TO COME AND SING WITH THE CHOIR

This invitation is to members of the local community and beyond to come together and sing in a ‘Community Gospel Choir’ which is open to everyone aged 14 and above – you, your friends, local people whether you have a faith or not, can read music or not, or have never sung publicly before, all you need to bring along is your enthusiasm and voice, Bobby Irvine our Choir Master will do the rest.

So why not take this opportunity to make some new friends who, like you, enjoy singing? All new participants will need to register and for those of 14-18 years of age we will also require parental consent.

Come along to any rehearsal where a warm welcome awaits you. There is a registration fee of £10 for the session, to cover the cost of music and other expenses.

Digital Skills is a computing program focused on helping and teaching members of the local community to safely use computers in an increasingly digital world. This assistance includes teaching the core skills required to use computers, creating email addresses and CVs, assisting with Universal Credit, job searches and job applications. 

All of this is available within the relaxed computer suite on John Street were those in need can seek on-site assistance, talk with their peers or de-stress over a friendly game of dominos. We work closely with the job centre but also are available for drop in visits from 9 till 2 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 9 till 1 on Thursdays

We at The Salvation Army in Ayr want to thank businesses and individuals for their continued support of providing food and money to help us maintain our increased demand for help and support. The support has come through both large and small businesses, national and local, individuals old and young including an 11-year-old who first of all did a sponsored walk to raise money and then went shopping to bag up food supplies for nearly 30 individuals. We would also thank all those who have volunteered to man the food banks, collect donations, and make deliveries all through South Ayrshire and district. Without this kind of help we would be unable to do what we are called to do in supporting people and living up to one of our mottos "With heart to God and hand to man". We pray that God will continue to keep you safe and well in these days.
