Thank you for supporting our campaign
The Salvation Army would like to thank you for recently taking the online campaign action on debt. We have had over 1,200 people take this campaign action in recent weeks. We are delighted with the level of response from our supporters.
Your efforts not only support our vital work but have given us a much louder voice with Government on the important issue of indebtedness on families across this country.
Last year we met the Work and Pensions Minister to discuss the need for Universal Credit debt to be included in the Government’s Breathing Space scheme. With this, and your support of our campaign, we now have many more members of Parliament who are aware of this growing problem and the need to better support those facing problem debt.
Once the Government’s furlough programme ends in September, the importance of this issue and how to manage it will increase further still. The Salvation Army will continue to lift up your voices and campaign to tackle this growing problem and support the people affected
Along with our important campaigning work, we will continue to support people who are struggling through our frontline work. For example, the Salvation Army in Nunhead distribute food parcels and essentials to people who are in need.
For many families and individuals who live in poverty, services like this are a lifeline, especially during the summer holidays. See below how this work is transforming lives.
