SUNDAY WORSHIP  

As a Christian Church, central to everything we do is our relationship with God, and Sunday Family Worship is one of the ways of nurturing that. 

This includes congregational singing in a mix of lively and more traditional styles, time for reflection and prayer, contributions by our music groups and Bible teaching relevant to all ages, experiences, and distinct ethnicities.  There is also a special opportunity for children to attend junior church.

Our Sunday Family Worship is live-streamed (Facebook) and uploaded the next day on our YouTube Channel.

This is an opportunity for parents/grandparents/carers to bond with babies and toddlers (0-3 year-olds) by gently singing and playing together in a guided group session, followed by refreshments. 

This programme functions during term time.

Croydon Citadel provides an Emmergency Food Bank service for families and vulnerable adults. The food parcel can be collected with a recognised agency referral form. The form must be sent to croydonfoodparcel@salvationarmy.org.uk 

During these periods we also offer Postal Service (references from Croydon partners).

The pick-up times are Tuesdays 11.30 am - 2.30 pm  and  Wednesdays 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm

We offer tailored support to help people become job-ready, to get a job and to stay in work. 

As part of this support we can help with local & digital support with access to internet, writing CV's and orientation in another professional areas. 

This programme functions on Thursdays from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm.

These classes are for adults who do not have English as their first language and are held in partnership with Croydon Adult Learning and Training (CALAT). The classes are of up to 30 pupils and are held in a friendly environment.

To take part you will need to enrol with Croydon Adult Learning and Training (CALAT). 

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm.

We offer a weekly gathering in a friendly atmosphere for adults of all ages and different cultural backgrounds featuring quizzes, singing, guest speakers, music items and a variety of other activities. 

These gatherings happens always on Wednesdays at 10.00 am.

If you like singing this is certainly a great group for you to be part of!

 The Gospel Choir is made up of people from the community of various ages, cultures and backgrounds and you are welcome to take part!

They meet every second Sunday of each month at 6:30pm.

We offer an exciting opportunity  to meet with men of various ages (18+), different backgrounds and cultures to share and discuss themes of interest. 

This meeting happens every Second Friday of the month at 7pm.

 This programme offers a friendly space and tailored support for those who are seeking asylum in the UK or who may have just been granted refugee status. It is open to single adults and families (including children).

This space is open every Thursday from 10:30am – 12:30pm. 

This programme gives the opportunity for people facing difficulties due to homelessness.

We work in network with other organizations.

This programme functions on Mondays from 11.00 am - 1.00 pm.

Three years after Catherine Booth the Army Mother preached in Croydon Public Hall in 1866 she conducted a three months campaign in the town.

The spiritual revival which followed let this converts to ask the East London Christian Mission to establish a branch in Croydon.

William Booth agreed and the workmen's hall and two small mission halls in different parts of the town were occupied. This became the first centre of the work to be started south of the River Thames and led to the movement changing its name to the Christian Mission.  Croydon becoming the ninth official opening.

The mission moved into its own building in Tamworth Road in 1873. A citadel was opened on the present site in 1887 nine years after the Christian Mission became The Salvation Army thus an unbroken record of Christian witness has been maintained by the officers and soldiers of this historic corps since 1869.
