We aim to make later-life a time of fulfilment and enrichment for our nation's older generation.
It is a privilege to offer services to people who continue to make tremendous contributions to their families and in their communities. Our older generation deserves to be treated with dignity; to receive care when they require it and to have the opportunity to retain as much independence as possible.
Are designed in consultation with service users to ensure their needs are addressed within the limits of any programme and its resources, the service they receive is what they want. Each person is encouraged to:
- Make choices which enhance and enrich their life
- To participate in activities which bring fulfilment
- Share fellowship and ease possible isolation
Residents at our centre had the great opportunity to partake in a four day voyage on the Faramir on the 7th to 10th of October 2013.
A staff member said:
“I have nothing but praise for all who work for the Cirdan Trust. The trip has really benefited our residents, who have said that it was an experience they will never forget. They would all like to say a big thank you.
On talking to all the residents who took part on the voyage, it is very clear that they have nothing but positive feedback and they all feel that they have gained something from the experience. One resident who was very withdrawn and difficult to motivate has now started to join in with centre activities. Other residents have stated that they are now more tolerant of others, and this has also been noted by other staff members. Another resident has stated that he would like to start a course to teach other residents to cook, this we are hoping to get underway soon.
Please could you thank on our behalf all those that helped to make this trip possible and an extra big thank you from me for getting the opportunity to witness first-hand the benefit it has had on all those who were able to take part.”
