At the heart of Aberdeen's Granite City is The Salvation Army's historic Citadel Corps. And yesterday the corps marked the retirement of one of its much-loved staff members Margaret Ross.
Margaret, who as a baby was dedicated at the Citadel, retires with over fourteen years of service to The Salvation Army as an employee - and many more as a volunteer and faithful member of the Citadel's congregation. Despite her retirement, she shows no signs of stopping her work for The Salvation Army.
Margaret was presented with her retirement gifts by Divisional Director Edgar Tombe in the presence of staff, volunteers, fellow Salvationists and friends of the Citadel at a retirement party in the Citadel cafe.
Commanding Officer Lieutenant Helen Froud said: "Everyone can point to the work Margaret has done for the Salvation Army here in Aberdeen. She has been an outstanding friend to all who encounter her."
