Celebrating the Tour de Yorkshire

The wet weather did nothing to dampen The Salvation Army's efforts to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire as it passed the Southfield Road church over the weekend.
We held a weekend of celebrations which began with a festival performance from the East Scotland Youth Band on Saturday evening and finished with a free open air performance in grounds of the Citadel on Sunday morning.
Captain Dawn Anderson, commanding officer at The Salvation Army in Middlesbrough, said: "We were excited to welcome the Tour de Yorkshire to Middlesbrough and our hall was packed on Saturday evening for the festival performance from the East Scotland Youth Band.
“There was a wonderful atmosphere in the city all weekend and we are grateful to everyone who came to our free event on Sunday as the Tour de Yorkshire passed our Citadel, despite the heavy rain."
