Tenors Un Limited, internationally acclaimed operatic trio, launch charity single featuring Norwich Citadel Salvation Army Band

A Norwich church brass band has joined forces with an internationally acclaimed operatic trio for a Christmas charity single.

Who Is He? is the latest single from Tenors Un Limited and features a recording by Norwich Citadel Salvation Army Band. Tenors Un Limited is donating profits from the sale of the single to The Salvation Army (charity number 214779).

The song was released by Tenors Un Limited on the day they performed at The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 23 November.

Paul Martin, from Tenors Un Limited, said:

“The Salvation Army does great work in so many areas. We wanted to do something that promotes the charity, as well as raising much needed funds. An important part of our recording of Who Is He? is the brass band accompaniment. We’re pleased The Salvation Army’s brass band from their Norwich Citadel church joined us on the single.”

Richard Woodrow, bandmaster of Norwich Citadel Salvation Army Band, said: “We were delighted to be part of the Tenors Un Limited Christmas single.

“Brass bands continue to play an important role in the life of our church here in Norwich on St Giles Street, as well as the wider Salvation Army. This Christmas we will be playing carols every Saturday in Norwich city centre, as we have done for the last 135 years.

“The fact that the single will also be raising money for The Salvation Army is an added bonus – it will help transform the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalised people across the country.”

Through a network of more than 800 community churches and social centres across the UK and Ireland, The Salvation Army offers a listening ear, practical help, and compassionate support for people at all levels of need throughout the year and particularly at Christmas time.

Who is He? is a classic hymn written by Benjamin Russell Hanby (1833-1867). The arrangement used for the single is by Richard Phillips, a member of The Salvation Army.

Who is He? can be downloaded via www.TenorsUnLimited.com or on iTunes at a cost of 99 pence.

Profits from the single, donated to The Salvation Army, are expected to be at least 50 pence per download.
