Childcare

We are an ofsted approved Child Care Provision that is operated by the Salvation Army. We provide Pre-School places for children aged 2 -4 years of age, term time only 9.15am – 12.15pm Monday to Friday. We provide funded and private spaces. At Pre-School we pride ourselves in the achievments the children make before they move on to their next learning journey. We provide structured learning for our 3 and 4 years olds covering all seven areas of learning and development, because we are a small group the children receive teaching and learning taylored to their individual needs to enable them to make rapid progress. We also provide the children with a health snack during the session.

We offer an Out of School  Club and provide a school collection that starts at 3.15pm and the session finishes at 5.45pm. The schools we provide wraparound care for are;- St Teresa’s Primary School, Ambleside Primary School and Robert Shaw Primary School. During Out of school club the children have a fun and exciting environment for the children to play and learn including game consoles, a hall for game activities and much more. We also provide a hot nutrituise meal for all the children.

We also offer a Breakfast Club for St Teresa’s Primary School pupils that starts at 7.40am and we provide a breakfast with a choice of toast, cereal and fresh fruit. We are very fortunate to have a 16 seater minibus that allows us to drop off and collect children from school.

The building for the childcare provision comprises of 5 rooms and a small outside enclosure which is accessable in all weather year round. These are; a large main hall that is used for activities such as football, rounders and party games to name a few,  a dining room for the children to eat which includes a large catering size kitchen, an upstairs meeting room for the outside agencies, a foyer including IT gaming areas and a large stimulating play and learning environment.

We now have a very attractive Sensory room created in May 2019, children of all ages enjoy the experience of being in a relaxing calm environment and in particular enjoy gazing at the bubble machine.
