Our services are a mixture of sung worship, musical ministry, Biblical teaching and prayer.  

Everyone is welcome, come as you are,  we will be pleased to see you.

• 4pm Messy Church - Second Sunday of every month
• Lunch - Third Sunday of every month (bookings only - 01449 614133)

Stowmarket Salvation Army runs the Café on the Rec which is based at the Recreation Ground on Finborough Road, IP14 1PR.

Café on the Rec is more than just a place to grab a great coffee; it is a meeting place where everyone is welcome.  A community hub, run by the community for the community, embracing Stowmarket Salvation Army's heartbeat - "Love God, Love Others".

Our café is run purely by volunteers.  If you have a few hours to spare and would like to make a difference in your community, please contact Sandra on 01449 614133.

Our opening hours are as follows:

8:30am - 4:00pm -  Tuesday - Friday

9:00am - 1:00pm - Saturday

9:00am - 10:00am - Sunday to support Junior Park Run

TUESDAY:      10:00am - CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other) 

A place where you can come and meet (and make) new friends.  Every week there are a range of activities on offer; art, knitting, board games, carpet bowls, pool, table tennis and of cause that all important cup of coffee or tea!

2:00pm - Over 60's

Come and enjoy time with other people.

WEDNESDAY: (last Wednesday of the each month)

10:00am - 12:00 noon - JOB CLUB

7:45pm - Songster (choir) rehearsal

THURSDAY:

6:00pm - 7:30pm Music Makers (6 - 16 years)

For ages 5 - 12 years.   Enjoy a free breakfast with crafts, games, music and Bible stories.

4:00pm - Messy Church (Next one Sunday 13th April)

A time to come as a family for an afternoon of fellowship, fun, food, crafts and all things messy!

3:30pm - Café Church (Next one Sunday 27th April)

A place for you to explore, question and belong.

Run by Christians - open to all.

THURSDAY:

6:00pm - 7:30pm (term time only)

Come and learn music through fun and games.  For ages 6 - 16 years.

Christmas Present Appeal

A big thank you to everyone who played a part in this year's Christmas Present Appeal. Thank you to Precon Products, who once again shopped for us for some of the gifts on the children's' wish lists, and to Bidfood, GXO, CEVA and Woolpit WI for their help in collecting toys & gifts amongst their staff and members. We are also grateful to Tesco, Asda, The Works, Hays travel & Café on the Rec for agreeing to have collection points within their shops/premises where toys could be dropped off. 

Elliot Mayes, a sixth former at Stowupland High School, decided he wanted to do something for us and organised a carol concert at the school, donating the funds raised to our appeal. 

To each and every one of you who donated a toy, or contributed towards the cost of purchasing toys or supported via our Just giving page, thank you so much. 

Without your help the task would have been so much harder, but together we successfully provided bags of gifts to 164 children and supported 83 families. We didn’t have time to count the individual gifts that went out in the bags, but we know it was in excess of 1,200. 

Thank you Stowmarket and we look forward to hopefully working with some of you again on our 2024 Present Appeal.

It was a hot day for our August Messy Church.  People of all ages met for a picnic at 1pm, which was followed by Teddy Bear Olympics.

Messy Church continued during the afternoon, and the day ended with a free BBQ for everyone.

VOLUNTEER CAFE ASSISTANT

We are always on the lookout for people wanting to volunteer in our much loved community café. We would be particularly interested if you are available on a Saturday from 9am - 1pm.  

Currently we are not able to open later on a Saturday because of our shortage of volunteers, so if you are able to commit to a Saturday afternoon please give us a call.
