Our foodbank works by referrals from local agencies (such as Citizens Advice, Health Visitors, Village Agents, Local Schools etc) to ensure that you are getting all of the help that is available to you. We will usually take one self referral per month if necessary. If you need help, then please contact one of those agencies listed, but you can also reach us directly on 07511 313 339.
We always welcome donations of in date, non-perishable foods*. We've been blessed by many donations lately from local schools and groups for Harvest, so our shelves are well stocked. However, demand is still high, and we are preparing for our Christmas food parcels, so we'd be very grateful of any of the items below (updated 4 Mar 2025):
- Tinned Meat (including Fray Bentos pies)
- Jars of Cooking Sauces
- Tinned Spaghetti
- Tinned Ravioli
- Tinned Fruit
- Tinned Custard / Rice Pudding
- Breakfast Cereal
- UHT Milk
- Instant Coffee
- Tea Bags (packs of 80)
- Fruit Squash
- Biscuits
- Crisps & Savoury Snacks
- And we're always grateful for strong shopping bags!
*we cannot accept any homemade items as due to "Natasha's Law" all ingredients and allergens must be listed on any items we provide.
We also welcome financial donations. We regularly spend money at the moment to buy items that we have low stock of, plus purchase fresh or frozen food and Aldi vouchers. You can donate funds to us, either directly at the corps, or by visiting our Just Giving page at the link on the bottom of this page.

All are welcome to our worship services
If you've never been to a Salvation Army worship meeting, they don't follow a set pattern or have set words to recite. They usually include hymns and worship songs, prayer, bible reading and a talk. Refreshments are served afterwards, and the opportunity for a chat.
First Sunday of the month is our 'Church Family Sunday' - an informal café style service - we serve refreshments halfway through.
Christian faith during the week, when our doors are open to offer programmes and activities for the community.

2:00pm Singing by Heart - this new activity begins on Wednesday 26th March!
The power of music, especially singing, to unlock memories is an increasingly key feature of dementia care as it seems to access parts of the brain that remain unaffected by the progression of dementia.
‘Singing By Heart’ uses a mixture of secular and religious songs which span the decades. Every song is introduced by a relevant scripture verse and concluded with a prayer. The sessions are designed to encourage communication, recollection of memories, and fun for those taking part.

The season of Lent begins Wednesday, 5th March.
Are you giving anything up? How about taking something up? This Lent, as a church, we are sharing in a bible study each week, 'A step closer to the cross', which connects with content during our services on Sundays. Do consider joining us and reading along.
We will be publishing the bible study content on our Facebook page each day, or you can download the booklet for each week here on our website, as they are published.
