Christmas Volunteering

As the festive season approaches, we are reminded of the joy and spirit of giving that Christmas brings.

At The Salvation Army, we rely on the generosity of volunteers like you to shine Christ’s love in our community. Each year, we receive a high number of volunteering requests, especially late into the Christmas season. To ensure we can accommodate everyone and make the most significant impact, we encourage you to submit your volunteering requests in good time.

Our vision is fullness of life for all with Jesus, and our mission is to share the good news, serve others without discrimination, nurture disciples of Jesus, care for creation, and seek justice and reconciliation. By volunteering with us, you play a crucial role in helping us fulfill this mission.

How to Get Involved:

1. Register Early:

• Explore what roles are available online.
• Alternatively, you can contact your local corps.

2. Attend an Information Session:

• We hold regular volunteer information sessions where you can learn more about our Christmas programs and how you can help. Contact the volunteering team for more information. 

3. Spread the Word:

• Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to volunteer early too.
• Share our volunteering opportunities on social media and within your community.

Christmas Meal Preparation and Distribution:

• Help prepare and distribute meals to those in need.

Gift Wrapping and Distribution:

• Assist in wrapping and delivering Christmas gifts to children and families.

Community Events:

• Support our various Christmas events, such as carol singing, Christmas fairs, and community gatherings.
