About us
The Salvation Army is situated in the centre of Barrow-in-Furness and is a Christian Church that seeks to offer holistic support to everyone, including some of the most vulnerable in our town. All we do can be summarised in the phrase - love God and love others. We are a place where everyone can experience a friendly welcome, good hospitality, unconditional love and holistic support. Whether you need someone to pray with, a listening ear, or some practical support, we are here and will work with other organisations in the town to support you and show Christian love in action.

Our Charity Shop, based in our building on Abbey Road, sells a range of preloved clothing and household items as well as a wide selection of baby and toddler equipment such as prams, pushchairs and cots. One of our volunteers also takes preloved bicycles and cleans and checks them before they are made available for sale. By donating and buying preloved items you are not only helping us to raise funds to support our ongoing work but it is also better for the environment.
