Bristol Floating Support

Individuals 18+ with Low-Medium Support Needs who need help moving, settling into their new home or with their ongoing tenancy.

Individuals who have just left prison or had an offence in the past 12 months and need help finding and settling into accommodation.

Over the Winter we help rough sleepers with move ons.

Referrals are via Bristol City Council or other organisations in the homelessness sector.

We offer floating support in and around Bristol, usually visiting people in their homes or meeting in communal areas like coffee shops.

We have a central office for staff to use.

We aim to offer holistic support, and can help with many areas, such as help finding, settling into and sustaining accommodation, support with bills and benefits, support with referrals to other organizations such as Mental Health support or food support, help finding work, training or education, and much more.

Our primary objective is to help individuals into secure accommodation that they can feel safe in. From there we want to support the individual to be independent, whether that be in getting support for their long term health or getting back into employment. Our aim is that at the end of support the individual won’t need us anymore!

• 1-1 Support with individuals.
• Support with finding employment, education and training.
• Support with referrals to or support to attend appointments for physical and/or mental health.
• Support with signingposting and benefits, including PIP applications.
• Support with moving to new accommodation.
• Support with ‘tenancy set-up’ such as signing your tenancy agreement, organizing your bills and getting furniture.
• Support with ongoing tenancy sustainment, such as helping you with your landlord, any tenancy questions and changes to bills or the tenancy agreement.
• Support and signposting if you become homeless, are threatened with illegal eviction or fall into rent arrears.
• Support and signposting if you are rough sleeping or need to present as homeless.
• At Bristol Floating Support we want to help in any way we can, in line with our values we will support any individual to independence.
