Our Response to inquiry for ending homelessness

The Salvation Army has outlined concerns the Government will fail to end rough sleeping in a new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) inquiry. 

While progress has been made, the reality is many rough sleepers struggle with wider issues in their lives, like addictions or mental health needs. If unsupported, these needs can act as a barrier to people getting off of the streets, or in some cases can trigger a return to rough sleeping, even after they have been provided with accommodation. 

The Salvation Army is calling for addiction and mental health support services to be prioritised in future homelessness funding plans.
