Welcome to our trainee-led Tearoom

The trainees at Hadleigh Training Centre told us they wanted to run the Tearoom and do everything themselves, and so that is exactly what we plan to make happen. We are so proud of our Tearoom and our trainees, especially when all the hard work so far has earned us a 5-star hygiene rating! Over to our trainees, who can tell you all about their Tearoom much better than we can. .

We are open on a Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Our opening hours are from 11am to 2pm and you can have your table for the whole of that period, we won’t be rushing you out. However, we do ask that you arrive as close as possible to your reservation time and be ready to leave at 2pm, to allow us to perform our end of day tasks such as cashing up, cleaning down, stock checking and ordering.

Initially we felt it would make things easier if we could manage the number of customers arriving at one time, so we introduced an online booking system; you can access this using the calendar below. After some community engagement and further training, we have now started to accept walk-in customers. So, if you are in the area on Monday, Thursday or Friday, it’s worth popping in to see if there is a free table.

We started with a menu we felt would be easier for us to offer. This menu included a small selection of food, sandwiches, toast, teacakes and cakes.

We listened to our customers and completed some training to be able to add a kids’ meal deal which has been very popular.

In response to further feedback, we are just introducing take-away drinks, and we are also looking at adding seasonal specials to our menu.

For every new addition to the menu, we spend time training hard to perfect our skills in both production and delivery of each item. We want to continue to be proud of everything we offer.

We will continue to consider menu extensions but, just now, we cannot offer any dietary alternatives to the items listed on our menu.
