New Addington

Throughout the month of August, our Sunday services are a little bit different to usual. There isn't a gathered service but instead, we have a range of different options for people to engage in, including Christian mindfulness and reflection, Bible discussion, Contemporary issues discussion, games and arts/crafts. 

Our Sunday Worship Services take place at 11am at the brand new Fieldway Centre, CR0 9AZ. They are relaxed and informal and everyone is welcome! No need to dress up or put on your 'Sunday best'! Just come as you are and share in worship with the 'NASA' family!

On the 2nd & 4th Sundays of most months our children and young people leave the service mid-way through for age-appropriate teaching and sharing together. In addition to this, at various points during the year there are social events and gatherings for our young people.

For the last 16 years, SingCR0nise Community Choir has rehearsed on Sundays. The choir is currently taking a break until December 2024 while its leader, Matt, is on Sabbatical. However, ordinarily, the choir,  rehearses on Sunday evenings from 7-8pm during term-time (and not on the last Sunday of each month) SingCR0nise Community Choir meet to rehearse. The choir is open to all adults and children year 7 and above accompanied by an adult. It is free of charge and there is no expectation of musical experience or ability. Singing is great fun, and SingCR0nise is all about enjoying singing together. If you're coming for the first time, please drop an email to new.addington@salvationarmy.org.uk just to check there's a rehearsal that week, as occasionally we may deviate slightly from the pattern outlined above. (And don't forget - the choir is taking a break until December 2024!)

7.30pm Deeper: Bible Discussion Group/Prayer evening for adults. (Held on Zoom)

Friday

10am-11.30am Oasis: Informal social gathering for adults - featuring refreshments, games, music, walks, guest speakers and various other activities. Free of charge, lots of fun and a great way to meet new people and widen your circle of friends!

11.50am Deeper - Bible Discussion Group/Prayer for adults. (Held at the Fieldway Centre)

We work closely with a number of other local groups and agencies, including Good Food Matters, The Family Centre, New Addington Pathfinders, local schools and several other local churches. Together, we seek to benefit the communities of New Addington and Fieldway however we can.

The Salvation Army runs 'The Vine' foodbank in New Addington. This is located down the lane between 11 & 13 Salcot Crescent, New Addington.

The Vine is open for donations on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm and Saturday mornings from 9-10am and for food referrals on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm. We operate an email referral system for food parcels. Referrals can be made by a variety of agencies, including local churches and schools, a number of local authority departments and the Citizens' Advice Bureau. Please email thevinefoodbank@gmail.com for more information.

Food Parcels are only given to those who have been assessed by one of our referral partners. We're currently unable to welcome clients into the building at the food bank and parcels are issued at the door. Please come prepared for inclement weather in case there is a short wait to be seen.
