Family Appeal is going strong

What an incredible week it's been for our Family Appeal.

The Christmas present appeal is the largest of it's kind in Northern Ireland and has been spreading festive cheer for 36 years.

Thanks to the public's generosity and the hard work of our dedicated volunteers, we have been getting hundreds of presents out to families who might otherwise have nothing on Christmas morning.

We caught up with a team of volunteers from Ulster Bank, who gave up a day to help pack toys and gifts for young people.

One of the bank workers, Kathryn Carr, said: "It's my second year helping out on The Salvation Army's Family Appeal and I love it.

"It's so rewarding to know the gifts we've been sorting and picking out are going to worthy homes."

Major Paul Wright said: "Thanks to people's generosity and the help we've had from volunteers, the Family Appeal is going great.

"However, we still need people to keep donating gifts, especially for babies and boys and girls aged 9-12."
