The Salvation Army in Glasgow is gearing up for one of its biggest events of the year – the Christmas carol concert.

This year's event takes place tomorrow (Saturday December 6 at City Halls) and features music from Clydebank Brass Band, Govan Senior Choir, children at Easterhouse corps and service users at the George Steven Centre.

The concert starts at 6pm and members of the public are welcome to attend. Tickets cost £8 and are available from the City Hall box office on 0141 353 8000 and glasgowconcerthalls.com

Major Catherine Wyles, leader of The Salvation Army in the West of Scotland, said: “The carol concert is a wonderful start to the festive season and one of our highlights of the year. Through performances by some great musicians, the concert perfectly captures the magic of Christmas.

“There will be singing and music, with traditional Christmas carols for the families to enjoy.”

Among the traditional Christmas carols at this month’s event will be Hark The Herald Angels Sing, O Come all ye faithful and 12 Days of Christmas to name but a few.

Biscuit king Boyd Tunnock CBE and Annabel Goldie MSP, who are members of The Salvation Army’s west of Scotland advisory board, will attend the carol concert.
