Helping children access online learning
published on 9 Feb 2021
Our corps (church) in Droitwich has teamed up with other local organisations to get local school children online for their lessons during the third lockdown.
An appeal for people to donate old laptops and tablets in the town saw more than 100 devices being dropped off with The Salvation Army and local Council collection points.
The appeal was made by ‘Digital Droitwich’ in mid-January and a local PC company in Worcester quickly refurbished many of the devices free of charge.
The corps then worked with local schools to find families struggling to do online lessons at home and re-distribute them. Anyone wishing to donate devices should contact The Salvation Army: Droitwich.spa@salvationarmy.org.uk.
