TOY APPEAL 2024

We have launched our Toy Appeal for 2024 and are now collecting NEW toys for local needy Children who might otherwise have a disappointing time at Christmas.

NEW TOYS can be donated at the following locations: 

NEWTON ABBOT:
The Salvation Army Church & Community Centre, 30-32 Union St, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2JS. On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday mornings between 9am - 1pm. Other times by arrangement, please call 01626 369053.

When The Salvation Army is CLOSED toys may be dropped off to our neighbours at: 

Nurseplus, 24-26 Union St, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2JS. 9am-5pm. 
Please note: This is for the donation of New Toys only, not financial donations. 

Tesco Superstore, Newton Road, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, TQ12 3RN. Trolley by customer services.

The Works, Market Walk, Unit 8, Shopping Centre, 10 Market St, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2RX. Opening Hours: 9am - 5.30pm.

TEIGNMOUTH: 
The Salvation Army, 17 Brunswick St, Teignmouth, TQ14 8AE. Thursday mornings only between 9.30am - 12.30pm. 

Fork Handles, 2 Regent St, Teignmouth TQ14 8SW. Closed Wednesday & Sunday, otherwise 9.30am - 4.30pm. 

The cut off day for the donation of toys is Tuesday 10th December 2024 as toys will be packed and distributed by the end of that week. 

Please note: We are unable to accept toys without a ‘CE’ label on them as they do not meet current UK safety standards. Therefore, as lovely as handmade toys are, we are unable to accept them. Toys that have not been played with but may have been used as ornaments are also not acceptable. That bear that’s been on your bed for a few years may look clean, but it has been gathering dust, please don’t be offended if we say no. Thank you for understanding!

FINACIAL DONATIONS: 
Financial donations towards the Appeal are also very welcome as we are trialling the use of Austin’s Toy Department Gift Cards this year for some children. Financial donations can be made in person either by cash, cheque (made payable to ‘The Salvation Army’) or by card machine at our office in Union St, Newton Abbot. These would be very helpful and gratefully received. 

Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day

We will be holding a Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day for those who are homeless or might be alone and lonely. Please book your place by calling our office on 01626 369 053. Places are limited, so we operate on a first come, first served basis. Please note: Guests need to be self-caring, and we cannot provide transport. We have enough volunteers. Thank you.
