Norton

First and foremost, Norton Salvation Army is a worshipping community of believers in Jesus Christ.  We gather for worship each Sunday.

BRUNCH CHURCH (formerly known as Family Service) takes place on the first Sunday of each month at 10:30am. This is an opportunity for us to share brunch together, chat with one another, and share God’s Word in fun and engaging ways. If you’ve not experienced ‘church’ before, this is a great way to give it a try!

ALL-AGE WORSHIP, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 11am, is another great opportunity to share in worship. The term 'all-age' makes it clear that there is something in our worship to engage people of all ages; songs, scripture, illustrations and activities will be accessible to all, regardless of age or ability.

EVENING PRAISE, on the third Sunday of each month at 6pm, encompasses all that Psalm 92 says: ‘It’s so enjoyable to come before you with uncontainable praises spilling from our hearts! How we love to sing our praises over and over to you, to the matchless God, high and exalted over all!’ (The Passion Translation).

And on those occasions when there’s a fifth Sunday in the month, we’ll have a CELEBRATION as a church family over a bring-and-share lunch.

Connection is so important to our spiritual, social and emotional health!  So, as part of our weekday activities, we offer opportunity for people to connect with God and with others.

Mondays, 9am-11:30am. 

TODDLESONG is a group for 0-4yo and their carers.  We have fun singing songs and playing musical instruments, free play, craft, snacks and story-time.  It is open to any families with children aged four and under who live in and around Norton, at a minimal cost of £1 per family.

First Wednesday each month, 2pm-4pm.

FRIENDS CAFE offers a dementia friendly space and activities for all.

Thursdays, 11:30am-1:30pm. 

CAMEO stands for Come And Meet Each Other, and offers space for people to meet others, enjoy conversation and a three-course lunch. It is open to people of any who lives in and around Norton - this extends from Woolpit to Stanton, Elmswell to Rougham, and everywhere in between, at a minimal cost of £6.

Jesus said, 'go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you' (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV).  As followers of Christ, we come together to explore the Word of God.

At Norton Salvation Army, we have a long history of music making and creativity.

Thursdays, 8pm-9:30pm. 

Our BAND and SONGSTERS (choir) have supported our worship for as long as we have been worshipping together.  We practice on Thursday evenings at 8pm (alternate weeks band and choir), so if you play a brass instrument or enjoy a good sing, join us as we worship together and prepare music for Sunday worship.  All are welcome.

Third Friday, 7:30pm-9pm.

Our CRAFT CLUB gives people opportunity to get together with others to be creative around great conversation and a cuppa.  Bring your own craft.  All are welcome.

The Salvation Army cares about the community that we are a part of.  Norton is a small, rural village, and we are always looking for ways in which we can serve our community better.
